Medication Change

Sorry about the long time between my last post and this one , I was having some real problems with my last medication and so in November went to my doctors and he put in an urgent referral to our local Adult ADHD service (It is in Norfolk luckily as I Know they are quite rare) I got my appointment letter soon after and in February I had my first appointment explained my issues and filled out a questionnaire on how I felt and how my ADHD affected my life and was suggested a new medication to try so we tried it out and it worked really well for me (Although I had lost quite a bit of weight , but we put this down to me having a dip in my appetite and so we aimed to eat more from now on) so we went up to the next level up and it worked even better for me and I made sure that I was eating lunch and dinner as I have never been a breakfast person. We went back yesterday and had still lost weight even though I had been eating so I aim to start having breakfast or at least some kind of protein shake or similar every morning. I also filled in the same forms I filled in on the first visit and less than half the points that I had got before (this is a good sign) and so I was discharged back to my GP and told to watch my Weight so I plan on getting some scales and Protein Shake mix.

I will try to keep this a bit more updated now that I am feeling better Thankyou for Reading.

It is World Mental Health Day today and also ADHD Awearness Month !

I do not hide the fact that I have ADHD in fact I am very open about it alot of people seem to dwel on all the disadvantages of ADHD and that gets it alot of bad press, I am no saying it is easy to live with but it is all about understanding that I have a short fuse down to any number of things that may have happend that day/month/year and my head wont let me destress and I need to get away, Maybe you do need to remind me for the 100th time that thing you asked me to do or even just a call/message to say you are still there and understand that alot is going on and maybe I forgot that one thing or to contact you its not that I don’t care or that I dont want to speak to you it is just I am trying my focus on something else at that moment in time. There are alot of possitives with ADHD as I was saying. creativity, multi-tasking, risk-taking, high energy and even resilience. Look at Richard Branston(Virgin),Ingvar Kamprad (Ikea Founder) and David Neeleman (JetBlue Founder) they are all Entrepreneur’s and all openly have ADHD and even say that they thank their ADHD as maybe a Nurotypical mind would have stopped them.

We are fast thinkers, we see more of the world at a alarming rate that without our ADHD we would maybe miss out. We have got a huge amount of energy just waiting to be spent up and used. Give us a task that we enjoy/have a interest in and we will give you the moon.

There are littrally too many famous people for me to list here that have ADHD from all areas I mentioned the guys above as it proves that having ADHD does not mean you are destined to be in Jail or a criminal that is a tarnish that the media made to sell papers. You could be a Actor, Sports Personality, Entrepreneur, Singer, Ect

Stop the stigma if you have ever thought you might have it then speak to your doctor. Even if you are a adult as it isnt just a childrens diagnosis most people dont just grow out of it.

If you made it this far then I thankyou for taking your time to read this and hope it all made sense. feel free to share this around and always looking for pointers.

If you can think of any particular subject to do with ADHD feel free to let me know and I will see what I can do.

Thank You
